Turning Vietnamese I Really Think So

Vietnamese cuisine is one of my palate's favorites when it comes to international food. There are only a few restaurants that specialize in this in my area though. But then opens... *cue spotlight now!* PHÁT PHỞ | a vietnamese kitchen And I must say this has been the best thing to happen to Vietnamese food lovers like me. LOL. :))

Here's just some of the food we ate the first time my family tried the place. Yes, I said the first time. In this week alone, we have been there three times already! Haha! It's crazy, I know.

The báhn mì is a sort of French baguette sold in the busy streets of Saigon (or all of Vietnam most likely). It's a sandwich really, but it's like nothing you've ever tasted before! Haha. It has a unique taste, probably from the vegetables. Okay, I don't know, it's just really good.

Satay. Best eaten with peanut sauce. They have other kinds too. I also really liked their beef angus ones, but we were too excited to eat; hence, the lack of a photo.

And finally, the pièce de résistance.

Spicy pho noodle soup. This definitely rocks my socks, my absolute favorite in the whole menu! Tastes amazing and it's spicy -- a double whammy already!

I think we'll just lay low for a couple of weeks, but we're definitely coming back soon! Thank you for opening in our little town!

I am not a food critic, but I know I love food. I think eating is one of the simplest joys in life. It's basic. It's a necessity, yet it can be very enjoyable especially when shared with people dearest to your heart. :)

Happy weekend, everyone!

And to all mothers, happy mother's day!!!

Cheers,

May Days!

Hello!

Can you believe it's the last day of April already? I feel like I always say this, but time really does fly so fast!

I really like this May calendar Dana from the Wonder Forest made.

I think the quote she put is a great pick-me-up. I feel like I am always facing new endeavors in my life, and this is the answer to all those "Should I push through with this? Should I just forget about it?" questions I always find asking myself.

DO NOT BE AFRAID TO FAIL.

You will never know unless you try. :)

Happy May, everyone!

*In case you're wondering, the calendar can be downloaded here.

Now that's taking my order!

So, I went to Starbucks...

Barista: Anything else?
Me: Low fat milk please!

I don't know, but this really gave me a good laugh. :)

How was your weekend?

Sweet Tooth

A while ago, my BFFs and I had a lovely afternoon in dolce, a jazzy cafe atop our little city. I absolutely love our get togethers because not only do we get the pleasure of each other's company, but we also get to explore new locations and discover new things that can be added to our long list of favorites.

Here are some additions to mine.

Definitely heaven in a plate! The precisely melted marshmallows on top of such a moist chocolate base...ohh, I cannot even describe it! :))

A nice cooler for hot days. I like how there is just a slight cinnamon taste as I'm not a huge huge fan of the flavor. And there are little oat pieces that you can nibble on as you sip the drink! Yum!

I think I sound a bit too passionate about these (LOL), but they were really good! I quite had the sugar high afterwards. But it was worth it. :))

What's your guilty pleasure?

Have a great weekend!
